Patient satisfaction

INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS

Each year we carry out a patient survey. The latest one involved 30 specific questions suggested by the British Orthodontic Society and are quire broad ranging. It is designed to be filled in by the patient but some children get help from their parents I am sure.

A selection of results are below:

Q Making an appointment is very easy / easy 91%
Q The receptionists are friendly all of/most of the time 100%
Q Waiting for my appointment is about right 86%
Q The orthodontist is friendly all of/most of the time 100%                                                    
Q The nurses are friendly all of/most of the time 100%    

There is an area for written suggestions. This year the main request was for radio or television in the waiting room. Though there as many patients recording they like the peace and quiet!

Result - we are looking into the solution to the lack of an aerial for a television.

EXTERNAL ASSESSMENTS

NHS VITAL SIGNS

This is undertaken every 3 months by the NHS.  and the questions are quite generalised. The figures are rolling so that a good or bad review sticks with you for 1 year and as It only involves a small number of patients one review may effect the results by 10%.
